I'm sure most of you have heard the heartbreaking for us, exciting for her, news about Mandy Buckingham moving to Alaska. She is an amazing human and educator. She is the person who makes me want to work harder and keep learning more and more about education so I can be the best teacher for my students. I will miss her every single day! However, I get to move into her room and teach the grade she loved the most...1st.
I am very aware that I will never be able to replace Mandy, but I will give my very best to these great first graders each day.
I believe, as of today, there will only be one 1st grade class. I am looking forward to getting to know those of you I haven't met yet.
I'm posting all this here so you can see that I have taught first grade before and loved it.
